Re: My custom poker chips
very nice, do they have edge spots, and if so do they match up with the spots on the face?
Also, can you vary the size of the white center(containing the art work), such at more or less of the given chip color is visible? Thanks, doc |

Re: My custom poker chips
That center white circle was the reason I went to the source for my custom chips, to Chipco International. I wanted to utilize the entire face of the chip, and Dan at TheChipStore was unable to give me a satisfactory answer concerning that white circle. I looked at all their past designs and they all have a custom center on the white circle background. I wanted more.
Using Chipco I am paying a lot more for the artwork, but with many benefits. These are going to last forever, and be handed down to children. The higher cost was worth it to me. First, Chipco’s art is great, and I get to work with the artist until the art is to my satisfaction. They actually design many of the chips for casinos worldwide (not to mention they are the only manufacturer of the Pro Tech ceramic chip). I get to work back and forth with the artist and approve the final designs, without a $$ commitment. I requested samples from Nevada Jacks and was happy with their ceramic (composite really) chips (non-custom) until he Chipco chips arrived. The Chipco chips have a much sharper image (full face) and the colors are bright and vivid. The texture was much nicer on the Chipco chips too. Chipco sent those samples for FREE, without my asking. After getting countless samples of all types of chip from several stores, I abused them all in various ways. I slammed chips together (as hard as I could), I picked at them with fingernails, I scraped them with a spoon, and much more. Most chips failed each of these tests miserably. Even some of the “clay” chips with custom edge spots were poor quality, warped and inconsistent. If the samples were that bad, what would the final order look like? Regarding the Chipco chips, after much abuse, I was finally able to chip an edge off of one Chipco chip. This was accomplished by slamming it as HARD AS I COULD on my marble floor. Even this took three tries before I could even make a mark on the chip. I had to slam it down edge first, at a slight angle. I was satisfied. I requested (actually paid for) samples from TheChipStore.com but I never received them. I requested a refund after two weeks and it was granted. I never received answers to any of my questions regarding the white circle, although Dan sent responses saying that there was "much to talk about." I think he was busy or too swamped to give me attention for a small order (1000 chips). If you’re interested, I’ll post my chip designs once I give final approval to Chipco. Ten |

Re: My custom poker chips
You can get edge spots but they will not necessarily line up with these. I am getting text all around the edge.
They have several different stock designs that have no extra fee to use; they make you a design for the middle and you can pick the colors for the edge. There is a similar 4 spot design with a tad more edge space. They also did the WPT chip. You can also make your own design from scratch but that is a bit extra. |

Re: My custom poker chips
Whale,
Your chips look great. I went a different route, because I wanted to use the full face of the chip. With the light tones of your chips and the color of the whale, this worked out fine for you. Mine will have a Egyptian theme, and I wanted them to reflect that with the sandy tones you'd see on a wall mural. This meant I needed to avoid the white, as well as the sharp division between the center circle and the outer edge. Ten |

Re: My custom poker chips
Ya, I would like to see what you came up with. I wanted some lighter colors to be different. I didnt want RED BLUE GREEN . I have minimal artisic and creative ability and thechipstore has done a pretty good job so far.
