Default Withdrawing from Netteller for Canadians

I want to make my first withdrawl from Netteler. The funds are in USD in my neteller account and I have a USD account at a Canadian Bank (CIBC).

I just spoke to Neteller chat support and they are telling me that even if I request a check, they will mail me a check in Canadian dollars since I live in Canada! Does that sound a bit strange?

I do not want the money converted. I want it to stay in USD.

Any Canadians gone through this experience?

Thanks!

It seemed strange to me too.

I use their debit card and/or EFT transfers directly into my bank account for withdrawls. If I want Canadian I use either. If I want American, I use the debit card from across the line.

I received checks from neteller on a regular basis when i lived in b.c. they were all in u.s. funds, last one i received in canada was late may this year. Unless they changed their policy i find this strange, maybe u should try calling them again.

After making the online check with a supervisor she informed me that she was incorrect and the checks do come in USD.

How long does it usually take to receive it?

Try them again. I used to cashout a cheque all the time from them and they were always in US funds. Their bank wires are always converted though......

I think the check usually came for me in 7 - 10 days. The real problem is getting a Canadian bank to clear the check in less than 30 days. Even if your account is in USD, they are so scared of fraud from USD checks that they hold it for 30 business days. This was at both the royal and cibc.

Getting your neteller certified and linked to a checking account is by far the best option.
