I pushed w/ 2nd pair no kicker

Early in a party 3 table S&G. i got hurt bad w/KQ vs. AK on a K high board. My stack is T500, blinds are 40/80. table is quite passive with lots of limpers, usually.

I am MP2 w/8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. UTG limps, as do i and SB completes, BB checks.

sb, bb checks, UTG bets T80. I push. sb and bb fold, UTG, who has me covered (he has about T720 before the hand)calls.

he shows J9 offsuit, i catch an 8 and take it down.

i know better than to limp with such a small stack here, but you cannot win these things being small so early, so i am trying to catch a monster. said monster didn't come, but with UTG's weak bet, i figured him for an auto fold.

did i do good? after the hand, UTG had some choice words, of course....letting me have it for going all-in with 2nd pair/no kick. as i see it, his play is worse than mine, but what the hell do i know?
