US solution for Iraq

I realize that there are tons of threads where various posters criticize and/or applaud various US policies concerning Iraq, Afghanistan, the Middle East, Israel, etc.

I'm curious to know what people think the US should do. Seriously...if you were named President, given emergency powers to deal with the international situation however you wanted:

(1) what would you do?
(2) what do you think would be the best thing at this point for the US/Americans?
(3) what do you think would be the best thing at this point for us to do vis a vis the Iraquis (and/or Afghanis)?

I'm seriously interested to hear what people's solutions are for these admittedly imposing problems faced by our nations at this time. If at all possible, please refrain from criticizing other's solutions - I'm more interested in brainstorming than criticism. Thanks. [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]
