Re: Spot My Mistake?
If the opponent is really going to fold AQ, KQ, AT here, something we are taking your word for, then I think all-in is a no-brainer. It would be a tragedy to call, get a favorable flop, and then lose to one of these dominating hands that you could have gotten to fold.
Among the other virtues mentioned, all-in discourages your opponent from reraising with hands like 44, since you have decreased his fold equity to zero. |

Re: Spot My Mistake?
[ QUOTE ]
By the way, why don't you think he would have pushed w/ AA or KK. Doesn't he know that you are pot committed. I would have pushed w/ those there. [/ QUOTE ] I'm not saying he wouldn't have pushed with AA or KK, just that when I was debating the call... my feel for his strength was that he did not have AA or KK. I got the distinct impression that he did not want me to call, despite my being committed. Thanks for all the responses. I absolutely agree that I should have called or pushed in before making the terrible raise that I did. Next time, I'll push in. Maybe even call if I'm lucky enough to be with 2 passives.
