Scrub heads for the Bay Area in search of a real job...

Hey folks,

I'm planning to move to the Bay Area at the end of the summer. Towards that end, I'll be in Berkeley from July 6-20th looking for apartments, searching for employment that doesn't involve poker, and visiting scrubette.

Scrubette is teaching nearly full time this summer, so I'm going to have some time to kill. I'd also like to check out some of the cardrooms while I'm out there.

Anybody have suggestions on stuff to do while I'm there/what room[s] I should make sure to visit?

I've always had a great time meeting 2p2ers from the east coast, so feel free to PM me if you want to get together.

If you are in Berkeley, Bay 101 is going to be a bit of a ride for you. Casino San Pablo is the closest for you. I would also recommend Artichoke Joe's in San Bruno (for some crazy games with big pots) as well as Lucky Chances in Colma.

I'll let you guys know before I really move--this is just a trip to try to get things set up for when I finally go (probably in late August/early September).

I'm probably going to be at Foxwoods Saturday night--you going to be there?

For hanging out at a cardroom, I like AJs best of all. The biggest game there is 15/30, but it's a friendly fun place and pretty much like hanging out at a neighborhood bar playing cards.

Also, BTW, you'll be on the same side of the Bay as The Palace. The Palace is a real hole, but they spread some fun small NL games there. All the local rooms have websites:

If you're in Berkeley, then you should PM Gift of Gab -- you two would probably hit it off. Then you should spend some time in the City and the surrounding area (Monterey, Tahoe, Napa). And when you finally get around to it, go to AJs for mid-limit limit, Bay101 for higher-limit limit, Palace (with pepper spray) for baby NL, and LC for real NL.
