Fairly common scenario, trying to improve play though
No reads, what you think of my play on this?
Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (10 handed) Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Re: Fairly common scenario, trying to improve play though
I'de bet out on the flop. Trap callers inbetween you and the PF raiser. Other than that, it seems standard to me.
Also, you may get scolded for limping in with KJs. But, I think the limp is fine, even in UTG+1. Haupt_234 |

Re: Fairly common scenario, trying to improve play though
So you dont consider mucking this after three bet on flop?
I think the pot is big enough to continue to try to improve - but then the turn make me dead to an over pair. Fold there? River fold? |

Re: Fairly common scenario, trying to improve play though
I wouldn't without a very good read on the player. Lots of people will 3-bet with overcards here to try and buy the free card.
I would bet the flop and call a raise, then probably check/call from there. I would *consider* betting the turn and folding to a raise, but it would be player-dependent. Not very many players will raise the turn with just overcards. |

Re: Fairly common scenario, trying to improve play though
I went for the check rasie on the flop to clear out overcards. I knew the button would bet no matter what so I c/r to get those in between us out. That worked great, my card however were less successful :-)
I think I prefer the c/r here to betting out since the J pair is nefarious. Of course it costs me more when he three bets so...... |
