Bellagio 2/4 NLHE hand
Hi All,
First time sitting down at the 2/4 NLHE at the Bellagio Sunday night. I've played a couple of orbits when I get TT in the BB. CO makes it $15. I haven't seen the CO play many hands so I don't know if this is just a steal attempt or a legitimate raise. Do I pop it back? Well I called. Flop comes K-baby-baby, no flush or straight draws. I bet out $25. I'm thinking/hoping he raised with AQ, AJ or small pockets and gets scared of the K. Should I have bet more (~$35 would be a pot-sized bet)? Do I fold to any raise or call to see the turn? |

Re: Bellagio 2/4 NLHE hand
You didn't say how deep your stack is, but I'm guessing that it was between 200 and 400.
You're ahead of most hands here, but out of position. I would make it 50 or 60 and hope to take it down right there. But calling is not bad. I think your flop bet is reasonable. You could also check-raise the flop, although this will require a good chunk of your stack. Either way, if he calls or raises, you are done with the hand. |

I hadn't played a hand yet so I was probably around $180. CO had me covered.

Re: Bellagio 2/4 NLHE hand
Against an unknown Id bet 45, this will let you know where you are and should keep him from putting a move on as you only have 120 and are likely to call a raise (though I wouldnt)

Re: Bellagio 2/4 NLHE hand
hey tank, i think the preflop call then bet out when a K flops is nice. i think betting out with that card flopping is pretty +EV. if he calls or raises your done with it. an additional positive is that if you get called you get to see another card to take his whole stack

Re: Bellagio 2/4 NLHE hand
Thanks for the feedback.
It turns out either way he wasn't letting go of the hand (he had KJs). Of course I chose to take his raise as an attempt to bully me out instead the obvious message that he had a K. |

sounds like the guy was a real fish. try not to bluff at the fish, and if you do and they raise, just fold it next time.
players that will pay you off with KJ when they make a pair are few and far between. --turnipmonster |

players that will pay you off with KJ when they make a pair are few and far between. [/ QUOTE ] In really big or tough games, maybe. But in general I disagree. In most games, people who play KJ are looking to flop a pair and will play accordingly when they hit. |
