Despite the results this was a pretty weak call?

This worked out fine since your opponent bet the turn for your check raise, but on the flop you can be reasonably sure you have 7 strong outs and maybe 10. Your opponent didnt raise preflop so while he might have a bad Q or K, he might have Axs as well or something else worse then what you have depending on any read you have on him (of course he could have a monster slowplayed preflop too).

Personally I like being the aggressor. I'd bet out on the flop and stop &amp; go a raise if I improved on the turn (which you did). If he just calls the flop you can be resonably sure hes not too strong and you may have the best hand now and still have a decent number of outs to improve to a likely winner. Bet here IMO.

Bet the flop. You may win it right there and if not you have outs. Don't force yourself to always make a hand.
