I hate folding for what looks to be one bet when the pot is laying you at least 14:1, but it's difficult to see how you can be winning this pot, unless BB is a maniac. Indeed, once that 8 hit on the river, you are losing to any semi-logical hand that BB could have been pumping since the flop.
The only reason to call this river is if you have a policy of never folding for one bet in a pot this large on the river with a good hand no matter how strongly your opponent tells you that you're beat. |

One point you didn't mention:
The pot wasn't heads up, and had I called, I may have faced a raise. |

- I wouldn't have capped the flop with a Q on the board unless the BB was a loose agressive type. If I felt that way about him on the flop, it would be worth calling the river with that many BBs in the pot.
- If he was not a loose aggressive player, I would not have capped the flop and probably folded the way you did. |

FWIW I'm not sure I'd limp with T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] UTG.
Raise or fold.......especially at UB. |

I agree, that capping the flop amy have been too much.
As for T9s, I usually don't play that UTG, but I decided to give it a shot, as I believe I am too tight in general and am trying to pick some new spots. Perhaps this was not one of them. However, it certainly is not a "raise or fold" only. This table was quite loose passive, despite being at UB. Suited connectors are not hands that need to be raised or folded, as they play well multiway. |
