MP3's check call-2-cold on the turn smells like a draw to me, and because of the bet on the flop, it certainly looks like a flush draw. But regardless of what draw he has, you want to check to him on the river. If he made his draw on the river you're going to be faced with a raise you really don't want to call, but don't want to fold to either. And if he missed his draw you just denied him the opportunity to bluff with a hand that will never call your bet.

You can debate whether or not to 3-bet pf, and there is some flexibility on the flop and turn. But the river bet is pretty bad.

Out of curiosity, what did you put him on when you bet into him?

(Oh yeah, one more thing. I find you get better discussion if you don't include the results at all.)

It could also be consistent with typical party idiot betting his top pair no kicker, or his middle pair, and then chasing his 5 outter, couldn't it?

After you check the river in this spot, don't forget to click the hand number in the upper right corner to see what he had when he mucks. Since he's new to the table and you have no read, you may get an idea of how he plays draws, middle pair, top pair garbage kicker etc.

Dude,

bone head play. I'm not sure why I bet the river. Its funny thinking about it now, I cant think of one reason to do it. Honestly, I think I was so attached to the hand, that I was going to force it on him. Stupid huh?

So far your right, these posted hands are showing me things that I didnt know were there....
