Default Getting a read on a player

In general how long does it take you to get a read on an opponent? Specificly, what do you put into player notes, and how much confirmation do you need before you feel you have a "solid" read. I've noticed that my notes tend toward Maniac or Loose with many players escaping the radar. Good players play a lot fewer hands and are harder for me to weed out. Thoughts or advice would be much appreciated.

That's a read right there, use it. You should know more or less what their calling and raising standards are.
