Default Studying poker books

What study method do you use to get the most out of your poker books? Also is there anything else, aside from just playing, to help with the learning process of poker.

Along a different thread........I read the book, make notes or highlight, then play 1000-2000 hands (sometimes less like 100-200) then read again and change my notes. I personally read it, then think huh?????? then think about it while playing and say ahhhh!!! I have never gained as much from reading as I have from reading, playing, reading, playing, reading.....well you get the idea
