I know I was bluffing, but ...
Ok yeh yeh yeh - I know I was bluffing and shouldn't of been there in the first place. But was this hand not played as if I was holding KJ damn near perfectly? (Maybe that was the problem in itself?) Could you honestly make the call this guy did? Just curious as to how horrible of a bluff it was..

Re: I know I was bluffing, but ...
I have vitually no NL ring experience, but i cant believe you fired in that much on the river after he called your large raise on the turn and open bet the flop.
I think you made a play at the turn and then when you got caught, you just kept firing stubbornly. That said though, i am surprised he made both the turn call and river call with such a poor kicker. rJ |

Re: I know I was bluffing, but ...
the kicker doesnt mean anything after the turn because of the 2nd J that came down, his bet indicated that he had the J or at the very least an A with a very nice kicker. However, when you were called on the turn and he put the initial bet of $10 down after the river you have to cut your losses and not re-up for another $100. That $10 to me indicates he definately has a large hand and is either putting in a value bet, or hoping you go over the top on him so he could call. It worked out that he had crap and you had less than crap, I just woulda cut my losses on the river.

[/ QUOTE ] You said the kicker doesnt matter, yet one of the two possible hadns he could put him on is an A with a very nice kicker. Please explain. rJ |

Re: I know I was bluffing, but ...
I simply meant the lack of a solid kicker is eliminated by the call of the huge bet after the second J came down because, most likely, if he called it he had a J. I rambled incoherently after that so ignore it.

Re: I know I was bluffing, but ...
Only way kicker would matter is if I had AK and top two pr instead of aces and J's with the K on board as kicker making
AAJJK Any other sections where I might get more answers on this? I see everyone's opinions so far and know where they are coming from.. would just like to hear from more people. |

Re: I know I was bluffing, but ...
This was probably a Party 6-max game, right? I never bluff in these games, because people make calls like this all the time. Just wait until you have trip Jacks or a flush to make a move like this.
