Wendover, Rainbow Casino, 5/10 Kill Pot
Table is generally loose and passive, except for button who is loose and aggressive, but, in my book, doesn't qualify as maniacal. I have Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] in early position. Preflop: I call, MP calls, CO calls, button raises, BB calls, I call, MP calls, CO calls (all others on this full table folded). Flop: 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (5 players) I check, MP checks, CO checks, button bets, BB folds. Here's where I'm hoping for advice. With 2 overcards (neither an ace) and a backdoor flush, is it okay to call here? Not sure, but that's what I do, as does MP and CO. Turn: (9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]) Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 players) I bet, MP calls, CO folds, button raises, I call, and so does MP. Flop: (9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]) J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players) I bet, MP folds, button raises, I reraise, button calls. |

I have 2 pair, Qs and Js.
Button has 2 pair, 5s and 7s (which were suited) I take the pot and for at least the next hour hear from a player who wasn't in the hand (a pal of the button) how lucky I was. Admittedly, the turn and river were kind, but, as already noted, I'd like to know if I made a bad play by staying in to see them. |

On the flop you have two overcards to the board. You also have a backdoor st and a backdoor flush. You are facing a Button that bet after 3 passes. CALL and see one card.

You were very lucky but I think you earned your luck through correct play.
You have about nine outs counting the backdoor draws and 11.4-1 pot odds. That's a huge overlay that compensates for the obvious junkiness of your outs. The fact that your opponent is a LAG sitting on the button greatly improves your prospects of winning if you make a pair. If you don't improve at all you need to fold the turn. |

He raised pre-flop with 75s, then caught 2 pair on the flop and someone called you lucky?
