Re: Why?
Strange that a lot of pepole would say that NL is so uncontrollable and unpredictable. Generally speaking, its supposed to be uncontrollable and unpredictable in limit.
For skilled players, the variance supposed to be much much less in NL. It's probably because the sharks will eat the fish alive in NL, while in limit even the fish get a chance to suck out for "one extra bet." Hence the variance in limit. I suck equally in both, so I don't notice a big difference. |

Re: Why?
NL because I like to steal pots and bluff. Limit is weak because there is a limit to what a person has to call to see the next card and they can catch easily.

Re: Why?
I prefer limit because I don't like the idea of losing my whole stack to an idiot who is drawing thin and happens to catch. At least in a limit game the size of my losses is limited.
Also I'm told NL can get quite boring waiting for the uber-powerful hand you can all-in with someone else having an almost uber-powerful hand to call with. Not my game. |

Re: Why?
I bow down to anyone who uses the Mooninites as their avatar. Err and Inignot rule.
"We do whatever we want whenever we want, at all times." -Inignot "On the moon, the weekend has advanced beyond your wildest dreams. Weekends now take up the entire week, and jobs have been phased out accordingly." -Inignot "We get checks from the government. And we use them to buy beer." -Err |

Re: Why?
I can often play limit on "autopilot," if you know what I mean. The same situations come up again and again, and you kinda know what you have to do.
When I play no limit (and I don't do it too much), I feel like I really have to be mentally sharp, or I'll get eaten alive. |
