Too early for this move or had to ?
12 players left, 10-18 all get $145, final 9 starts at $205 and moves up to $3630 for 1st.
I'm in 11th with 26,000, leader has 200,000 but most are in the 50,000-80,000 range. Blinds are 3,000-6,000 with a 300 ante. The tables have really tightened up as the final table of 9 is within site, I pick up 44 UTG and decide to move all-in. I happily watch everyone fold around - except the BB who happily calls with TT and ends my tourney. Been bugging me all day. With only 6 players at the table and the blinds hitting me next I thought this was my last chance to bet enough where someone would really have to have a hand to call. Right move, "thems the breaks" or should have waited for a better hand ? PS the guy who beat eventually finished 9th despite moving into 2nd after that hand. Wasted my former chips ! |

Re: Too early for this move or had to ?
"Right move." These tourneys are about big money. If you agree, then it was definitely the right move for you. You don't have near the stack to sit around and wait. If you had 35-40,000 then it would be closer, but 4xBB is just not enough to sit on.

You had a bit over 4 BB left and you were going to post 1.5 of them in the next 2 hands. You had a pair. That's life.
