Default Too aggressive on flop?

After this hand played out, I asked myself whether it was really a good idea to raise the flop, given that I would want players behind me to stay in to pay me off if I hit my draw. Would it have been better to just call the flop?

Very nice. Look at your results, two players cold called. They'll do it again. Plus, it makes it harder to put you on a draw when the spade hits.

In my book, you cannot be too aggressive

I think the raise is fine, and probably _made_ you money. One player folded. The most likely results if you didn't raise are either --
(1) they'd call & fold on the turn. You lose one small bet.
(2) they'd fold anyway. You lose two small bets.

The raise is a slight value bet which gives you control of the action ... I think this was played well.

If UTG wasn't such a wuss you would have made a lot more. Raising the flop may clean-up your ace out. Nice hand.
