Default Too Much Too Early??

Royal Vegas Mult--about 45 minutes in 100 players left-- I have 2600-little over average stack--blinds have just turned to 50/100. 4 limpers to me in SB w/ KK--I go all in thinking I'd be happy picking up the 500 already in the pot. MP player calls all in himself (he had 2500) w/ AQ--Q 6 4 on flop and hits Q on river to beat me.

I usually won't play for my whole stack until BB is 100-which is why I did so here-have had good success playing this way in the past. Did I risk too much too early? Is there any way not to lose most/ all of my money in this situation? Would anyone play it much differently w/o going all in or close either preflop or on the flop w/ this flop? thank you

You played fine. The all-in call with AQ was awful, but he got lucky. With that flop, you'd have lost all your chips any way, even if you hadn't gone all-in pre-flop.
