I bet. He thought for a minute, which told me I was dead as he feared the board pairing, and then he called.

I don't want to be too results oriented, but when he raised the turn, should that have set off an alarm? Or was this just a case where I had to go to war and lost to a better hand?

You will lose with a queen high flush very seldom. Don't worry about it just because it happened here. He could have been rasing with many hands. I would like to have this hand <font color="blue"> top pair and q high flush draw </font> 100 times in a row.
