"Hi efferbody!"
Early stages of a tournament. About 140 left out of 190. Blinds are T25 and T50. I have T1050. I pick up 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] in UTG+2. Folded to me, I raise to T175. Folded to a larger stack in late position with T2750 who calls. Blinds fold, heads up. No strong read on this guy's play ... has won a fair number of pots without showing, but has not been overly aggressive. Any hands he has shown down to date have been reasonable. Flop comes 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. With a pot of T425 and my remaining stack around T875, is this an easy all-in? Or is there a better line of play? |

Hiii Drrrr Niick!
i think this is a fairly easy all in since he would have come over the top with and PP higher then 99 you are probably up against an unpaired hand that you do not want to give cheap cards to. Since any reasonable raise would make you pot committed you should push here. If he has A6 or something then tough break, but you cant afford to give a cheap draw to what is probably to overcards. O ya and... GO LEAFS GO!!! |

I'm not sure there is a bet you could make after flop that would allow you to lay down to a reraise given the pot size relative to your stack. I would find it difficult to underbet the pot here being sussecptable(sp) to overcards. Maybe a better play would be to limp in. You don't have that much comitted and could get away preflop to heavy action. You also increase the likelyhood of a multiway pot which is what I would want here. If you limp in and bring a few players with you including the blinds for a pot of T200 or so, I feel good about making a potsized bet considering your overpair to the board. If your goal was to win the blinds right then and there, you must bet more preflop espicially at this stage of the tourney.
