Default nut flush gets stomped

Party 1/2 9 handed- table is slightly tight but nothing too bad.

3 limpers to me in CO, I have A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. I limp, as do the blinds.

6 to the flop which is 7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] j [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Checked to a MP limper who bets. I call hoping for overcalls. The 2 blinds and one EP limped fold and the other EP limper calls.

3 players see the turn which is 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. MP bets, I raise, EP folds, MP 3bets, I cap.

River is 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. MP bets, I raise, MP 3bets, I call.

Should I have slowed down anywhere here?

I don't think so. When the nut flush goes down to a boat it usually goes down pretty hard.

I would have capped the turn but I think once he bets the river you should only call. You do have the nut flush so what the hell is he betting with, a K high flush...probably not.

Yes, I think it is very reasonable to think that Party .5-1 players are betting lessor flushes in this manner. Also, and in the hand more likely so, a player will play trips like this. A hand like A7 or K7 are likely candidates here. I think there is value to a single river raise, you don't want it to come back 3 bets to you however.

Thanks for the comments, and I apologize to the posting angel, but I was tilting here rather then at the table :-)
