how about some preflop laydowns then?
20-40 good live game. here are a couple i made. what do you think?
1. loose utg raiser, loose aggressive button caller. okay not to tight bb. i have ATo in the sb and muck. 2. we are 7 handed at the moment. semi tight aggressive guy raises, another who is maybe a little more passive 3 bets, he's almost all in, 3 more chips and he's all in. bb is loose. i fold 99 in the cutoff. |

Hey Mike, I think both folds are good. I would consider them routine, especially the A-10...but then, I am a tight ass

Re: how about some preflop laydowns then?
i think folding ATo to a UTG raise is a good fold depends on the style the raiser has...
but with 99 i sure reraise him! |

Re: how about some preflop laydowns then?
on teh second hand when u cap it u get the guy heads up and he dont have that many chips left...i would raise in this situation about 90% of the times!

Don't say that. By folding ATo you'd be making the right play against a typical opponent, don't call yourself a "tight ass" because you folded it. |

Re: how about some preflop laydowns then?
Good folds both
In hand #1, even a loose raiser has you likely dominated. Any pair TT+, Any Ace-broadway has you sucking wind. In hand #2, you're going to have a tricky hand if you don't flop a set, and since one of the opponents is all in there's only one player left to pay you off if you hit your set. Combine that with the fact that the original raiser is semi-tight and might have you drawing thin, easy fold. BB's looseness makes it likely you'll have 2 opponents to beat unimproved and no money to make if you hit a set. |

Well, we all go on tilt at sometime....
If I'm on TOP of my game I routinely fold the 9's, if not, I tend to cap.
My game would routinely allow me to fold ATs or off suit in the SB in the circumstances you described. ~stephen |
