Default stud only tourney at NEPC with less than last year

This year's New England Poker Classic has been a great success for Foxwoods and their excellent tourney staff led by Mike Ward... The only thing that didnt get better (and bigger) than last year was Monday's Stud tourney. Entrants and Prize money is down.

Is this the future of Stud tourneys? I forsee HOSE and Omaha to be up since they are Holdem/Board type games. Thoughts?

Interesting observation that enrollment for the seven-card stud tourney actually declined. Presumably many of the regular stud players decided that their time was better spent in holdem events because of all the dead money there.

It seems that stud is going the way of draw poker. Stud-hi-lo-eight-or-better may be gaining in popularity, however.
