I'm a newbie at stocks, currently owning RY.

I went to 4 different sites, and somehow they all have different P/Es for the Toyota Motor Company, can someone explain. ticker: TM

You probably can dig it out from here but all data that I saw was reported in Yen:

I'm not going to check out the sites but possible reasons are

Whether earnings are based on trailing twelve months or estimates for the next twelve months

GAAP earning versus pro forma earnings

Exchange rate used to convert from yen to $

How many estimates and which estimates were used if they are based on estimates. (If using estimates)

You are better off examining financial statments than just going by the PE number put out by some site, maybe you should try and get find them. Unfortunately sometimes they are harder to find for foreign companies, I'm sure a company as big as Toyota has to put out a lot of data somewhere.
