Re: Congrats ...
It's astonishing to me that a place like Foxwoods would allow events of this magnitude to sell out...set up some more tables, for god sakes!
At the Bike in LA, they recently had the tournament ballroom filled, a big tent set up in the parking lot filled, as many tables from the main floor as they could spare, and more tables set up in the employee cafeteria! There should be no such thing as "sell out." |

Re: Congrats ...
Which event was that? I don't think the bike has had a 1100+ person tourney yet. I think the most they had in their past few was near 700.
Sure I agree that Foxwoods maybe should have expected 1000 for the todays tourney but I am sure even 1100 is more they could plan for. I remember playing in the opening event at the Orleans a few years back. It was amazing to see 100+ tables in the 2 convention rooms they used. Ken Poklitar |

Re: Congrats ...
It was the first event of their Winnin' O' the Green tournament a few weeks ago, $50+10 NL Hold 'em. They had 847 players. That's the biggest tournament they've ever had, and everyone who wanted to play got a seat. 10-handed tables. From what I understand, Foxwoods is significantly bigger than the Bike. What about setting up a couple tents outside, or setting up tables in other parts of the casino with available space? It just doesn't seem to me like it should be too hard.

Re: Congrats ...
What about setting up a couple tents outside...
This is CT, not LA. It's still 30 degrees outside this time of year. I don't think playing outside would go over very well. ...or setting up tables in other parts of the casino with available space? Between the ball rooom where they hold tournaments and the poker room, Foxwoods currently has over 200 tables set up. At some point they have to draw a line. 1100 seems like a reasonable number to me. Also keep in mind, Foxwoods isn't a just a poker room like the Bike. It's a casino that happens to have a poker room. Unfortunately, poker isn't at the top of their list of priorities. |
