Why are 7-stud limits usually so much higher than Hold \'Em
When you go to Foxwoods they have insanely high limits running, like 150/300 stud, but the highest hold 'em limits I've seen there are much lower, like 50/100, (I don't think even that high.) Seems wierd cause 7-stud has a lot more betting. What gives? |

7-stud has more gamble. The rich suckers are a lot more likely to have a winning session at stud than at holdem.

I agree.
Unfortunately, go to the west coast or vegas and it's hard to even find a stud or stud-8 game. This might not be true in some of the big LA or Frisco clubs; my experience with the west coast is mostly san diego. al |

Re: Why are 7-stud limits usually so much higher than Hold \'Em
Its an east coast thing. Stud has always been big on the east coast. Louie is right though, as usual. In big stud games with a large ante and sizeable bring in, it is very often correct to chase more. Try playing the .50/1.00 stud on party. The ante is .25 putting 2 BBs into the pot before the cards are even dealt. Chasing is very correct in this game with many hands making loose players inadvertently play better.
So the reason for the games is really 2-fold, east coast bias towards stud and the fact that tight is right isn't as cut and dried as it is in hold 'em. |

In addition to what others have said - Foxwoods banned a whole bunch of their high limit Hold'em players who got caught up in some casino point trading scheme.
When Mohegan had the poker room the higher hold'em games were spread there. Orange |

Games, plural, isn't quite right. Game, and it was very often 3 or 4 handed.
