Default San Diego Area

Going to be in Rancho Bernardo for work next tues, wed, and thurs. I don't know the San Diego area at all. I know of "Ocean's 11" at Oceanside, but that's about it. I'm looking for 30-60 or 40-80, but if there isn't that much of that down there I'd be willing to play 20-40 also. What's close to Rancho Bernardo?

Thanks,
ZG

Ahhhhh good ol' Rancho Bernardo. My old stomping grounds.

Oceanside's probably 25-30 minutes from RB. I think the Indian Casinos are about the same, in the other direction.

Others who still live there can give better details...

There is fairly little in the way of bigger games in the San Diego area. I have never frequented Ocean's 11 but I know they spread a 20-40 and I think it's a regular thing. They may even go higher, but not especially often. Unfortunately my experience is all with two indian casinos, neither which really spreads anything above 8-16 (certainly not with regularity). Sycuan indian casino has a 20-40 game, I think, but I've never been there, so I couldn't really say. Sorry I can't give you anything better, but most of my experience is with low limit rooms. I would guess that Ocean's 11 may be a tiny bit closer to Rancho Bernardo than the indian casinos, as long as you avoid driving at rush hour.

I live in Oceanside, and Oceans 11 is just 10 minutes from my house, so I really love it there

The other casinos in the area are Viejas and Sycuan. Viejas is in Alpine. If you take I-15 South to I-8 East, it'll be about 35-50 minutes depending on traffic. Sycuan, (I think) is in El Cajon. Take the I-8 East and exit on Washington Blvd, I think.

From what the dealers have told me, the Oceans 11 20-40 game is pretty soft. (When someone remarks about 3-6 being nofoldem holdem, the dealers say that it's the same way about 20-40. They're probably exaggerating though). I think Oceans 11 is physically closer, but you'll have to go through more traffic to get there.

The biggest game Viejas always has going is $8-$16, but they spread $15-$30 on weekends.

Oceans 11 spreads a $300 max buy in no limit game as well. If you want to go to an Indian casino instead of heading south you might want to try Pechanga in Temecula. I think the biggest they spread is 8-16 on a regular basis. I did see a 20-40 game going once on the weekend thou.

If your downtown go to a restaurant called Sevillas. Excellent place to eat.
