Raise preflop for sure.

The rest of the hand doesn't look bad. Sometimes calling IS correct.

I disagree that calling is correct...

Flop: All you have is a backdoor draw and a potentially unclean ace with a weak kicker. Either raise to clean up your pair outs (or because you believe you're ahead) or fold. This is NOT the kind of hand you want in a 7-way pot. By just calling you are giving up all hope on your pair outs. Someone could've hit their ace's kicker and you aren't likely to win with a T, so what you're really hoping for is a flush.

2 more reasons I didn't like this call:
1. you had NO way of figuring out someone had a set, because you never raised to see how they'd react
2. there were still 2 people behind you that could've been waiting to raise, and 2 people that checked that could be check-raising out of the blinds, given the weakness on the board.

You make a good point. This hand is just bleh without the preflop raise. The hand just plays out SO much differently raised versus limped preflop.
