Default Re: All-in with QQ

My opinion is based more on the stage of the tourney, your chip stack, and your position. You played it fine.

In an early spot like that, people may put you on a stronger hand and fold potential winners. You needed to move or you would be chipped at and die anyway.

Had you done anything else, you would probably have put more money in anyway and by that time your stack is in critical shape. So again. QQ - Now or never. If you run into something bigger, it is just bad luck.

I've done the all in in thing preflop and it doesn't seem to workout as well. One caveat is 1010 and JJ where you should usually bet about 40-45% of your stack and move in on the flop. You can't take any beats at this point so this is your number 1 option to protect your hand. QQ also. I do believe seeing that QQ or JJ is the #1 bust out hand at the WSOP a couple of years ago.
