I would like to thank everybody for their responses. I think I may have misled you a little bit because my birthday isn't until May, lol. I just thought I could get an opinion now. I am looking forward to the trip though. I will be sure to post a report here for wherever we decide to go. I will be going with my cousin and my father, my father likes the Foxwoods and my cousin likes AC, so I am the deciding vote (well i would be anyways because it is my birthday). Neither of them play poker, although I am slowly luring my father away from the slots and onto the table games. Hopefully soon I will be able to get both of them to play poker. My Dad is still in the phase where "You only have two cards, how do you know what is going to come up, it is all luck." Oh well. Thanks again for the responses, and any other responses I would appreciate

i guess you really like to plan ahead, go to AC, the borgata is a nice place, plus if you are turning 21 they serve drinks all night and i think you can get into a bit more trouble(fun) in AC. Foxwoods is in the middle of the country, although i found a little strip club kinda close in groton.

Default Yes, Foxwoods is a Zoo...but...

I sat near the board on Monday. As usual the list were huge. 8 tables of 2/4 w/150+ on the list, 6 tables of 4/8 w/100+ on the list, 6 tables of 5/10s w/80+ on the list, 6 tables of 10/20 w/20+ on the list.

I overheard a conversation...

One young rounder-wannbe says,
"I'm like 85th on the 4/8, and like 60th on the 5/10?"
Other responds,
"Wanna get on the 10/20? Really, how much different could it be from the Kill at 5/10."

And they did.

It's worth the wait. The lists are forcing low limit players, sick of waiting, to play over their heads. Real good times as of late.

Peace,
Joe Tall

Stay away from the Trop.

really? why? i went there, it wasn't too bad.

i did get to see the final of the 3,000 stud tournament the night before the NL tournament back in late sept. And i saw a fight break out at a NL satellite. but i didn't think the games were that bad.

still, borgata is cleaner.

AC Vs, Foxwoods........

I hope that is a joke.

AC....100%

You have all the casinos to choose from with basically minimal wait. You have the "Mix" at the Borgata and "Casba" at the Taj if you want to get away from the tables for a couple of hours.....

If you have the money to be playing in the 15-30 then get a room at the Borgata and you will not be disappointed, call ahead and get the poker rate...$125 a night on the weekend. You can't beat this, unless you play for 8hrs. then I've heard you can get a room for like $50.

The Borgata 3-6 is a gold mine. It takes time but this game is the softest in AC.

I'll be at the Borgata Friday and Saturday this weekend.....I plan to be at the 3-6, No-Limit, or 10-20....all depending on how I do in the game before.....

PM if anyone's gonna be in AC this weekend at the Borgata.

Foxwoods.....why would you drive all the way up there to wait 2 hours?

Go to AC and play at the Borgata. Very young crowd and you will be among your peer group. The Taj has better game selection IMHO, but if you play just Hold Em, the Borgata will suit your game limits.

I played in the NL tournament in September. I had Paul Wolfe at my table.

When I first started playing I used to play exclusively at the Trop. Upper management has allowed the poker room to become dilapidated.

I still find it ironic that the Trop has the largest hotel in Atlantic City, yet upper management seems to neglect the cardroom.

Joe Tall states one true fact, the other is that the tourneys at FW have a similar dynamic with new players. The line is out the door to register(Tue NLHE at least), but within 45 min of the rebuy period ending, the prize pool is swollen and the remaining players are serious. Just be cautious of unpredictible.

It sold out at 4:30PM on Tuesday. The boards exploded around 5:30 with the overlow from the players that were shut out, it was amazing. Around 7PM the lists look like a Saturday.

Welcome to the forum,
