Default Book & Software Advice (asking)

So far I have read Sklanskys Hold 'em poker , I am now am looking for a second book. What would be the best book to follow this? I am also looking into getting some software. I have heard mostly bad things about Wilsons's Turbo Texas Hold 'em. Can anybody give me any personal exeperience from available software that is helpful in hold 'em

Thanks in advance

I'd get Lee Jones, Winning Low Limit Hold'em and Hold'em Poker For Advanced Players now, and read both over and over until it all starts to make sence to 'ya...

Turbo Hold'em is very useful if you are a raw beginner especially to pick up odds calculation.

You can take a look at Brier's Middle Limit Holdem book too. There's lot of stuff there for beginners, in particular, on how to handle marginal situations (which is usually the case in hold'em).

The main criticism regarding TTHE is that some of the advice offered by the in-game advisor is quesionable.

This is a valid point but I still found TTHE to be a worthwhile investment when I first took up the game in terms of turning me from a losing player into a winning one.

Nowadays, its main use to me is in simulation mode, which I find very useful.

I'd certainly recommend it as a learning tool ahead of play money tables, which are a waste of time.
