Help me make a decision.
For my 21st Birthday, I am taking a trip to either Atlantic City or Foxwoods. Both are the same driving distance from where I am going to be. Could you please tell me which one I should choose to go to and why. I will most likely only be playing Hold-em from limits 5-10 to 15-30 depending on how much money I have. I will arrive at the casino(s) on Friday and most likely leave on Sunday Night. All input is appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Help me make a decision.
Can't speak for AC, but with Foxwoods, you want to get there early in the morning (9-10) if you want to get seated in a short amount of time. Get there at noon, and your wait for a 4-8 table can be three hours or more.
On the upside, 5-10 games do tend to have much shorter waiting lists than 4-8. Still, there will probably be a wait. Although they tend to be mobbed, they also certainly have a fair number of tables at the limits you're looking for. And hey, there's almost no chance that you'll be playing a short-handed game for very long. |

Re: Help me make a decision.
Play within your bankroll...
If you dont have a bankroll, Start out at the lower limits and build a bankroll. You could easily loose 1K in one night playing 15-30. If I were you I'd start out at the 3-6 level, you cant play poker if yer down to the felt!! |

Re: Help me make a decision.
I agree, Foxwoods is a madhouse, and thats when its slow. At least in AC, you can go to the Borg, the Taj, or the Trop and get into a game rather quickly. You can find anything from 2-4 (trop and taj), to 3-6 (borg and taj), to anything higher.

AC all the way. You have a few different rooms to choose from. Last trip I did extremely well at the Taj.

Re: Help me make a decision.
Borgata usually has 5 2-4 tables, 5 3-6 tables and 4 or 5 6-12 tables going then some other higher stuff and some stud and whatever people want to play. Other than when you need something brought to your room and need help in your room, they are very very helpful and accommodating. When you have to wait for someone, it'll be a while.

Do you plan on sleeping..or playing straight through?
Nicky,
I will most likely only be playing Hold-em from limits 5-10 to 15-30 depending on how much money I have. I do not know if you will find $15-$30 at the Foxwoods. The Foxwoods spreads a $5-$10 with a kill. After a pot that reaches $100, the next hand gets played at a $10-$20 limit. The killer has to post a 10 and the blinds stay at $2-$5. Foxwoods players please correct me if I made a mistake, I have not played in that game in over a year The Foxwoods from what I hear has tremendous waits. You can always get in a game within 30 minutes at any of the AC cardrooms. I will give a biased opinion. Choose the Borgata in Atlantic City. One night venture off to the Taj Mahal for a night also. Stay away from the Trop. Post a report. |
