Eeeek! Maniacs are everywhere!
Thinking about moving up because you're tired of being drawn out on by their opponents at 3/6?
B&M 15/30, full table. UTG limps, a couple of folds, Villain limps from EP, Angry raises from MP, button makes it three bets, big blind calls, UTG calls, Villain limp-reraise caps the betting, all call. Villain originally bought in for a rack, lost it, bought in for another rack, lost it, bought in for a third rack, and started a hot streak. Angry was already, well, angry at the Villain for cold-calling a raise with T6o and cracking his pocket kings. The flop is 9s9h2h. Checked to Villain, who bets. Angry raises. Some people try to call. Villain three-bets, Angry caps it, the rest of the players in the pot look quite concerned. Turn is 5d. Villain bets, Angry raises, everyone else is knocked out, Villain calls. River is 3s. Villain checks, Angry bets, Villain check-raises, Angry calls. With great aplomb, Villain tables 64o for a rivered straight. Angry mucks AA face up. The game continued. Villian was full of liquor and, with just over five racks in front of him, having a great time. Angry, a strong player when in a good mood but very very tilty, muttered and moaned for the next hour. Villain needled him constantly. Angry was down about three racks when I left the game. Villain lost most of his winnings by that time, but seemed to be enjoying himself. Dealing with maniacs and calling stations will always be part of the game. Don't complain. Adapt. Chips don't represent money to some people - they're just gaming tokens, just like in an arcade. The number printed on the tokens doesn't matter to these people. They can afford them, and they just want to have fun and maybe get lucky. Don't take the fun out of the game for them with criticism & complaints. |
