Default Fort Laurderdale poker at Jai-Alai

Has anyone played there? What are the hold'em limits and how are the games?

There are $1-$2 and $2-$2 games. Very tough to discourage players on the come. I;ve only played a total of like 16 hours there, but I saw a lot of AX and KXs being played, and often 6 or more seeing the flop.

If I recall correctly, they rake 10% up to $4. That's really rough, even with a lot of players seeing the flop.

Again, I can only speak from a few trips, but I found the dealers to be rushing and therefore prone to make mistakes.

On a side note, the club room overlooks the Jai-Alai and the food is pretty good for the price (most entrees in the $17 range).

I don't know about those unlimited pots. At Miccosukee in Miami the betting is capped at $4 on the PF and flop and $8 on the turn and river.

Also down here there is a "straight $2" game available meaning that the PF and flop bets start at $2.

That is the maximum I believe. Don't know if it's because of a law or because the Indians don't want us making too much $ in their casinos or something.

Poker in Florida is the absolute worst, not even worth playing unless your into low stakes. If $1/2$ is your thing then you will find more than enough action. Tables are very loose. Nothing to see 8-9 people on the flop. I played at Seminole one night just for some practice before heading to Atlantic City and I got yelled at by and old lady because I raised three pots in a row.
If you want good games and good tournament action the only place to go is on the Saint Tropez Cruise ship, I play 10-20, 25-50 there, they also have plenty of low limit tables. Best of all they have tournaments every Friday with the "BIG" tournament the first Friday of every month. $250 buy in, unlimited re-buys for the first hour and one add on, the first place prize money has been averaging $20K. Usually 100-120 entrants and they pay 10 places. Or the other option is pm me and I can get you involved in local CLEAN games. We play high and low stakes depending on the night, we also have touny nights too.
