Default Differences between the 3/6 and 1/2 Draw at Paradise.

I'm playing in a 5-handed 1/2 game at Paradise, and doing ok and making money, and I look up and see the big draw games going. I am thinking about taking a shot at the 3/6 Draw. I've built up a bankroll of $200 to play in it, from about a months worth of 1/2 Draw winnings.

I'm wondering if any 2+2'ers in the forum play in that game and how is it different from the 1/2 Draw.

Are the players more agressive?

Is there more bluffing?

What can I expect to see?

Are there any strategy changes I must make from my normal tight agressive play?

Who are the best players in that game? I don't see many people that I know from the 1/2 games in the 3/6.

Any last minute advice?

It took a month to win that? Maybe there are a few leaks
you may need to plug as well; or maybe you don't play that
much draw!

Back to business:

The ante structure is different and the rake is brutal
(raked in increments of $0.25 as long as there is a draw),
so the minimal hands for +EV for each situation must be
stronger when compared to 1-2 which makes the game less
interesting (should be theoretically lower % that take the
draw).

The players are more aggressive, so you won't be getting as
many free plays in the big blind. There is still some
semibluffing/bluffing and all but the really bad players
will stay playing shorts and defend the BB with hands that
aren't really a proper defence.

If you haven't already included semibluffing with your hand
requirements, you should definitely do so: any ace-high
flush draw and hands as good as KQJT should be opened for a
raise. You should seldom limp in; most of the time you
enter a pot, you should raise (occasionally someone will
open limp in which case with good flush draws you should
just call). You should also have a sound calling strategy
to catch possible bluffing.

The 3-6 games are a bit tougher than the 1-2 and the 5-10 is
sometimes even going. You can usually find Louise5 and
5th Street playing the 5-10 but I don't spend that much time
watching the 3-6. You just need to watch for mistakes any
of the players are making, and if there are a few players
constantly making significant mistakes, you should hop in!
