Default Grannie Mae\'s younger sister?

I've been following the whole Grannie Mae shennanigans with some interest for a while. I've even dabbled myself but with little success. Wondering what went wrong I noted one post that emphasised the need to play Grannie aggressively. Busted out of my next tournament on the back of that

I then abandoned Grannie until tonight. I had no intention of playing tonight but on returning from the pub (its 3.30am here) I couldn't help myself.

Surprise surprise, a feed of drink and an online bankroll do not go hand in hand but at least I stuck to a level where I couldn't lose too much. $200 later (approximately 20 minutes) I was desperate (and still drunk). Playing tighter is not an option at this stage nor is considered thinking so in my befuddled state I latched onto the only strategy I've acquired at 2+2 that is workable whilst under the influence.

Unfortunately even Grannie abandoned me at this stage (possibly because of an earlier lack of faith) but just when all was lost along came the nearest thing as far as my pickled brain could tell - Q4 spades. With gusto I leapt in and the rest is history ... immediate victory and turned the session around despite the 2 bottles of cheap plonk doing the rounds in my head.

So is this coincidence or a related phenomena? Hand history below for anyone mad enough to care.

Default Re: Grannie Mae\'s younger sister?

As drunken thoughts go, this one makes as much sense as any.

Looks like Granny understood the idea, although she must have had a quiet night as I'm sure this wouldn't normally work.

Glad it turned your night around,

Lori
