Default Semi-Cold Call AKo preflop (a.k.a. Me Moron #2)

Party Poker 5/10 (10 handed)
rharless has A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] and is SB

MP3 (tight-passive) limps, Button raises (good player, most likely this is an isolation play), rharless calls*, BB (one of the reasons I am playing here) calls, MP3 calls

* My "default" play is to 3-bet with AKo, of course. I decided to try cold-calling and then check-raising or maybe betting at most of the flops.

Flop(8 SB): 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

A ragged flop... I know Button will bet, so I continue with expected check raise:

all check, Button bets, rharless (SB) raises, BB calls (he was not supposed to do this), MP3 folds, Button calls

BB was not factored into my equation. Nemo really could be calling with even 43o here. A bit of a loss as to what my turn plan should be now...?

Turn(7 BB): Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

Well, I have a hangover from the 2+2 table on Tuesday, and I've picked up major outs with this card, so I'm all about aggression, wanting to win. I like to bet scare cards. I am woman, here me roar!

rharless bets, BB calls, Button calls

River(10 BB): 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

rharless bets, BB calls, Button calls

Ensuing chat

Button: you've got to be kidding me
Me: nope
Button: keep coming to the party, moron
Me: will you keep calling down my flushes?

(OK, so that last line was a bit mean... ; I should have responded something like "dude, I flopped a flush draw" as someone once suggested)

I think my preflop cold call given my isolation-play-read of the button and my ensuing flop check-raise is ok, but what do you all think?

What should I do on the turn?

Me likes. Though I still prefer 3-betting PF. You can still go for a CR with a raggy flop like this. Most of the time you'll win on your A or K so you want to limit the field. 3-betting PF and CRing the flop combined does a good job of this.

"What should I do on the turn"

Anything but betting on the turn is borderline retarded.

I'm not sure it is worth 3-betting preflop if that will likely force the fishy big blind out.

I'm not saying don't 3-bet. I'm saying that a live one in the big blind gives you a reason not to 3-bet.

I often feel like my poker decisions draw a fine line between brilliance and idiocy.

Default Results: Semi-Cold Call AKo preflop (a.k.a. Me Moron #2)

I guess this one was more of a duh than I thought. Nothing like playing right and second-guessing!

Button had Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] for turned two pair, rivered ten-high flush.

BB had 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] for the flopped double belly and the rivered 6-high flush.
