Mason: Richard Epstein\'s gambling book
Mason: What are your thoughts on Richard Epstein's "Theory of Gambling and Statistical Logic"?
I just ran across this today on Amazon.com and had no idea that Epstein (a brilliant law professor at UChicago, for those unfamiliar with him) had published a book on gambling. Anyone else who has read the book is welcome to chip in their thoughts as well. |

HIGHLY recommended
The book is a masterpiece. But be prepared to have your butt kicked if you plan to work through the whole thing (unless you are an advanced student of math or a related field.) Seriously, if I had to choose one book on gambling to own, this would be it.
Are you sure it's the same Richard Epstein? If so, wow. |

Re: Mason: Richard Epstein\'s gambling book
I think Mason reviews this book in the back of Gambling Theory and other Topics. I believe he rated it high.

[ QUOTE ]
I think Mason reviews this book in the back of Gambling Theory and other Topics. I believe he rated it high. [/ QUOTE ] As a matter of fact, he gives it a 10 out of 10 and calls it "one of the most amazing books in the gambling field." I haven't read it but it is now at the top of my list of "Must Buy" books. |

Re: Mason: Richard Epstein\'s gambling book
This is the pre-eminent book on the mathematics of gambling.
This book will require some mathematical background, but you don't need to be a math major or anything. If you're serious about mathematics of gambling, you will have this book in your library. |
