I think one of the weakest parts of my game right now is my small blind play late stages. I struggle with pushing a large range even when I think it is a push any two situation. Here’s an example.
PartyPoker - NL Texas Hold'em $20 Buy-in + $2 Entry Fee Tournament | Level: 6 - 5 players (Converter: PGC) Chip Counts: Button: 1460 Chips Hero: 1585 Chips BB: 1223 Chips UTG: 2215 Chips CO: 1517 Chips Hero is SB with 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Blinds are 100/200 PreFlop UTG folds, CO folds, Button folds, Hero ????… PartyPoker - NL Texas Hold'em $20 Buy-in + $2 Entry Fee Tournament | Level: 4 - 4 players (Converter: PGC) Chip Counts: Button: 2990 Chips Hero: 880 Chips BB: 990 Chips UTG: 2200 Chips CO: 940 Chips Hero is SB with 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Blinds are 50/100 PreFlop UTG folds, CO folds, Button folds, Hero ???? |

Use ICM.

At a 22 I fold this, BB's calling range is almost certainly likely to contain hands like QJ or even T9s...you don't want to get called here obviously, and it happens too often.
btw this is what SNGPT is for. |

I've added another hand to the OP.

SNGPT says push unless you give villain a huge range.

I think these are both folds as well, (im at work so it's intuitive, not ICM). You have enough BB left to wait for a better hand. Like pergesu said, you don't want a call. If the blinds were going up next hand, I might reconsider though.

I'm laying down comfortably in bed and don't want to get up to my PC to check this out. Anyway like I said, if BB's range includes hands like QJ (which at a 22 is basically guaranteed) then it's probably -EV, and at the very best only slightly +EV. Hero's got 7.5 BB, it's not like he's desperate here by any means. |
