I've just moved to the 15 and am trying to get used to the 2/3 blind structure.
What are the standard ranges for calling and raising from the sb here? Any already made thread would be perfect. I've been typically making it 3 and getting the bb out more often than not if I'm playing from the sb. Rasing 22+, Ax, K6s+, K8+, Q10s+, j10s. Then calling most suited one gappers below this range. Is this too loose? Obviously some adjustments can be made given the bb and the raiser, but is this range about right? |

2/3 blind structure with bad player in bb easy call. 1/2 blind structure with unknowns easy fold. [/ QUOTE ] Ok, a .17BB difference doesn't change it from being an easy call to an easy fold. Also, the quality of the BB isn't the issue, it is the blind stealing % of the CO. This is a hand that is near 0EV. Playing it increases your variance. However, against the right CO, it becomes +EV. |

Just for my own information here boyz, what hands are we calling with in the sb facing a hijack or later raise?
should I treat it like I would treat completeing in a 3/6 game? |

I call this from both structures and sometimes 3-bet it. But with the loose player in the BB, I prefer calling. These cards play very well multi-way.

With a very loose BB this is a call. Otherwise the default should usually be raise/fold.

I call this everytime, sometimes 3 bet depending on BB. Only time I fold is when someone is like a 16 VPIP

whats your stats on the BB?
you could bring it to 3 bets w/ the BB behind you unless you've seen him fold in this situation often. i dont think its really that bad of a move to do seeing hes in the CO. |

[/ QUOTE ] Very few hands are overwhelmingly +EV. All are high variance. Just understanding that should make it clear that avoiding slightly +EV spots in order to "decrease" your variance is dumb. It doesn't take a genius at all. |
