I checked and he quickly checked behind with A7. This one was close but i think a bet would have been better against this type of opponent. He probably won't bluff with a flush draw if that's what he has and he's unlikely to raise me unless i'm beat (which means i can easily fold when he does)

There's no guarantee he would have called a bet on all streets with TPNK. If he folds everything you're beating on the end, there's no value in betting (other than metagame non-showing value). |

If he folds everything you're beating on the end, [/ QUOTE ] That's a gigantic if and i believe it to be false. I'm pretty sure he would have called a 1/2 pot bet on the river (which is what i would have bet. [ QUOTE ] This logic isn't quite sound. [/ QUOTE ] i'm not convinced yet. Do you see the flaw in your logic? (hint: see above) |

Re: Value bet this river?
Id bet 150. Either you check/call and lose to a hand that will bet 150, or bet 150 and called - sometimes you'll lose, sometimes you'll win. But it sure is better than calling 150 and always losing.

Re: Value bet this river?
I would have bet more on the turn, but I go into check call mode here.
