Default Overcards - Could I have played them more aggresively

It's a tight 10-20 game. I'm in the smblind with A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
Folded to LP who limps, cut-off raises, I and the big blind call.

Pot 8 smbets. Flop: 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

I and big blind check, LP bets, everybody calls.

Pot 11 smbets. Turn 3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

It's checked around.

Pot 11 smbets. River 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

I bet, LP calls and shows 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

So should I have played the Overcards more aggresively?

Unless the CO is a loose raiser, there's nobody forcing you to call this preflop.
In fact, you say it's a tight game, so dump it.

I check-fold the flop. You have zero and your ace may not even be an out.

The cut-off is tight. He had AJo so you are
right - the ace was no out. I got lucky.
Should have folded on flop.

I would fold it pre-flop. Since you didn't you should just check-fold on the flop.
