Re: JJ with Two Over Cards on the Flop
[ QUOTE ]
I bet. I will try for a fcp. I want to get to a showdown on this hand. If I get c/r here, I call and fold the turn UI. [/ QUOTE ] I don't think you've got odds to call the check-raise to chase things. |

Re: JJ with Two Over Cards on the Flop
this is a good example of the value-bet/fold-to-a-raise.

Re: JJ with Two Over Cards on the Flop
I see no reason why you can't bet this flop. It could appear to be a steal attempt to him, you already have a hand. He might be on some small suited cards (hopefully not hearts.) Anyways you have 2 backdoor draws, possible re-draw if he has hearts and you should probably bet this.

Re: JJ with Two Over Cards on the Flop
heads up w/ JJ you gotta bet this flop. w/out any reads I would probably fold to a c/r and check/call the turn UI. by this point you'd probably have a good idea of where you stand...

Re: JJ with Two Over Cards on the Flop
Grunch: Since BB's calling range preflop is huge you can't really put him on a hand, except maybe that he doesn't have a monster. I think you either way behind or ahead. A play I been thinking about when I have position (as you do here) is to bet/raise the flop. If bet into again on the turn, I fold UI, if not I bet again for a free SD. If BB likes to bluff, you can check through on the turn and call the river instead. Anyway, we probably get to SD for 1,5 BB more and the pot will then be 5 BB. I really think you are good more than 30% of the time here, so this play should make sense?

*grunch*
Bets. If he check-raises you can pretty much fold here. If he calls bet the turn and check behind on the river. If he shows aggression I'd fold. |

Re: JJ with Two Over Cards on the Flop
Bet the flop--you will have to fold to a raise, though, as long as you don't think this is a bluff (which it's probably not). If you're called, bet the turn. If your raised on the turn, fold. Check the river.

Re: JJ with Two Over Cards on the Flop
Don't I have enough outs here to justify calling the C/R and seeing how I like the Turn? As I look at how I played the hand, I think that folding to the C/R was a mistake. The pot was relatively small, so I don't think it was huge, but it was a mistake nonetheless.

Flop: (4.50 SB) Q, A, 8 (2 players) BB checks, Hero ???? [/ QUOTE ] Bets. Find out where you stand. He may have played any ace or any two suited cards. Bet and decide from his response what to do. |
