Re: The first anarchist?
At the risk of getting into a battle of semantics, which I sincerely do not want, a "true" anarchist, a person who practices anarchy, adheres to the definition:
<ul type="square">[*]Absence of any form of political authority. [*]Political disorder and confusion.[*]Absence of any cohesive principle, such as a common standard or purpose.[/list]Now, it may just be me, but lawbreaking figures in there somehow. |

Does Eve's sin represent the birth of free will in Man? [/ QUOTE ] I would say no, because she and Adam both had this free will. They just chose that particular time to exercise it. |

At the risk of getting into a battle of semantics [/ QUOTE ] Obviously there will be one... You are refering to nihilistic anarchy (I may have invented that but it sounds right) which is actually what most people think about when they hear anarchy. pvn is refering to anarchocapitalism, where there is law... just no state. I really think that ACers need to use some clever rhetoric to mask the negative connotations which spring into most people's heads when they hear the word "anarchy." |

Re: The first anarchist?
I agree, semantics is boring, and a convenient method of derailing a thread, but look at the etymology.
The more important point is the story itself. Whenever I hear someone tell me that it's my "moral obligation" to help, I'll think of this story. |

A "real" anarchist respects private property and human rights. [/ QUOTE ] Maybe if you an anarcho-capitalist pig, There are plenty of forms of anarchy where property rights dont exist at all. |
