What after SSH ?
Hi,
I am just reading Small Stakes Holdem by Ed Miller. What should I read after that? I am finding the book really good, chaning my whole view on the way I perceive various plays. Expectation is the biggest paradigm shift for me. Any tips advice? I am only play 25c/50c and 50c/$1 at the moment on Ultimate Bet. Thanks Peter |

Re: What after SSH ?
SSH, then SSH, and after that SSH. If you get sick of SSH, pick up a copy of SSH instead. NA MEAN?

Hi Peter. You don't really need another book to beats these games. What you need is to continue to work on your game, by posting hands, responding to other peoples threads, etc. Here is links to few threads that you could check out.

Re: What after SSH ?
Agreed that SSH alone will give you more than enough info to crush the games you're playing right now. But assuming that you plan to eventually play higher limits, at some point you should get around to reading:
Theory of Poker, Sklansky Hold'em Poker For Advanced Players, Sklansky/Malmuth Zen and the Art of Poker, Phillips Those 4 will pretty much set you up for success at LHE up through the high middle limits. There are tons of other good books dealing with different variations of poker and gambling theory, though. Check out the Books/Software forum here for some other good recommendations & reviews. |

Re: What after SSH ?
Definitely read Theory of Poker. Really think about it. SSH and every other poker book you'll ever read will be so much more valuable if you've read TOP. (I think you could argue the best way to read poker books is to alternate between reading a new book and TOP).
Then read HPFAP and Middle Limit Hold'em by Ciaffone and Brier. Compare, contrast. Think about how they play different situations differently and why. |

Re: What after SSH ?
You know, I read the Lee Jones book first and it taught me the phrase "find a fold" which I think SSHE doesn't help much with. Miller has some examples of when you should fold (and there aren't many) but having the Lee Jones caution can be a useful counterpoint to the aggressive Miller approach.

Weighing the Odd in Hold em by King Yao. No one has mentioned it yet. It's excellent.
TOP and HEPFAP are also essential for any poker library. |

Read and post in the forums.
Plan to move off of UB when you move above 50c/$1. |
