I do think that alot of people will bet in this spot no matter what, against a paired door or not.

With no read on the opponent here he could easily be making this play with a pair in the hole or a bad 2 pair. Unless you know that he will never bluff in this spot you have to call here.

"calling on the end with a hand you should not have called with can never be a big mistake" p.95 7csfap

I think you are using this quote out of context. And, secondly there is no context for the raiser in the game or how the game was playing etc.

There are times when I make calls on the river too that should be beat based on the action. But I do think people need to make the folds more often than they think. Believe me if I think someone beleives they can get away with this on me, I can do things to defend myself at later times to put them in their place.

It's the one off bets...a bb per an hour...that takes you from winner to loser or big winner to small winner. Just some advice from someone who has done consistently well live and online. I love the players who can't fold two pair on the river...that's how I make most of my money.

Furthermore, I don't think two pair should be characterized as a "big" hand. You were the aggressor and at a minimum he should be putting you on three jacks. And, should not think you are willing to fold that on the river, mainly because the pot is too big.

What do you think of check-calling 6th and the river?

I can't disagee with you more. Fold is the decision on 3rd.

I think he meant to say he likes a raise on 4th, not 3rd.

Well it goes back to what you put your opponent on in the first place. looks kinda straight looks kinda flushy. If you are hell bent on seeing his hand, I guess you can do that. It's just not the position you want to be in at all. You should just hate your hand all the way around. But you know that.

I think there is a new acronym we need to add. CKB=Curiosity Kills Bankroll (I am going to start marking players who payoff too much with that designation.

3 bet sixth street, and then checkraise the river.
Just call on 4th street.

edit: ugh, I thought you had a straight. Ignore the above advice.

checking sixth looks good. If he bets, call. on river, if you fill up go for a 3 bet, not a checkraise.
Just calling 4th street is still best.
