\"Coin Flip\" ???
Calling AK vs a pair all-in preflop a coinflip, has always seemed pretty liberal to me coming from math minded people.
I guess you can get away with calling it a coin flip if you are playing with tourney chips, but in a cash game it feels too generous imho. |

Re: \"Coin Flip\" ???
Im proposing that it is renamed to something else.
perhaps "Minus-Ten" since you are often 45-55. You could say "I'm AK, MT" as an alternative. |

Re: \"Coin Flip\" ???
VVP : He's picked up a real hand Mike, a wired pair of pocket fives!
MS : Yep, he's speeding Vince! But wait, KKF has pushed all in with big slick, ace king of spades!!!! VVP : Wow, this is going way faster than I thought. He's been called!!!! MS : Yep Vince, now this is pretty much an AK, MT!!! Nah, not gonna catch on. |

Re: \"Coin Flip\" ???
This is way too much extra to say.
On the otherhand I do agree that it is very generous to consider AK a coin flip. |

Re: \"Coin Flip\" ???
eh, i don't think coin flip is far-fetched. most coins have been in circulation for at least a few years and have accumulated some dirt, grime, and imperfections. consequently, when you flip them, they probably land to one side slightly more than another. a 10% variance is not outlandish.
coin flip stands in my book. |
