Re: I did make the right play didn\'t I?
[ QUOTE ]
I think I'd fold the flop, two bets to us already, we only have overcards and b/door draws, and we aren't closing the action, this could easily come back to us for 2 more! Mat [/ QUOTE ] Overcards, gutshot, BD flush draw, position, I kind of like 3-betting it personally. |

[ QUOTE ] well played. like sean said: that flop is close to a 3-bet, but i think it is fine the way it was played. [/ QUOTE ] Silly question here, why 3 bet? You've probably got about say 7 outs, so i can justify the call. [/ QUOTE ] I wasn't going to say anything since i got a "well played" from @L , but i was talking about 3-betting preflop. Looking at the flop again, however, i give us 4 outs to the nut straight + 1.5 BDFD + 3 for our overcards == 8.5, which is almost enough to raise for value against 2 opponents. Add in some implied odds and the small chance of a free card and i'm beginning to like a flop 3-bet. My initial reaction was to just call and see how things go on the turn, but i have been edging back into Weaktightville lately. |

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I actually discounted the K's and Q's to 2 outs total, and would have just called. If/when you get to Weaktightville, give me a shout, looks as if I'm already there. |

[ QUOTE ] I think I'd fold the flop, two bets to us already, we only have overcards and b/door draws, and we aren't closing the action, this could easily come back to us for 2 more! Mat [/ QUOTE ] Hey Mat the flop is closer to a 3-bet than a fold. [/ QUOTE ] I don't know about that. BB bet into the initial raiser who got 3-bet preflop and called the bet. Then CO raised into the initial preflop 3-bettor. When we are facing two cold, we may want to re-evaluate a bit. We have two overs that may or may not be good. We have a BDFD and a BDSD. We don't close the action. If it gets capped and the SB drops, we're putting 4 bets into a 20 bet pot. We're getting 5:1. We have maybe 3 clean outs. Maybe. Our flush draw is most likely good so we can give it 1.5. Our BDSD is like .75. Both of our overcard draws could complete someone elses straight draw. Call them 1 apiece at best. So we have over 4 outs, but I really don't like the overcard outs. I don't think, even with implied odds, we get anywhere near the pot odds. But it is a big pot and we should, "Give yourself the best chance to win a big pot." So raising the flop MIGHT get them to check to you on the turn so you can take a free card. I think I find a fold on the flop following the bet and the raise ahead of me. |

Re: I did make the right play didn\'t I?
You're missing the immediate gutshot. There is no BDSD that doesn't involve making the gutshot with a Ten.

Re: I did make the right play didn\'t I?
What BDSD? You have 4 outs to the top straight! Plus a BDFD and discount your overs to 1.5--that leaves you with 7--not a raise, but certainly a call.
Edit: After reading seanc's post, I definitely agree it is less wrong to 3-bet here than fold--although, I think 3-betting is wrong. |

Grunch:
Nope. Fold the flop w/o a REALLY good read on the CO. |
