Are there any poker casinos in shervport?

The only casino in Shreveport that has poker is the Hollywood Casino. They spread 1-5 stud (sometimes 2-10 on weekends), 4-8, 10-20, and 20-40 holdem. Since they are the only casino in Shreveport to have poker, they are usually very busy on weekends. You can expect to wait 3+ hours on weekends, unless you get there early (before 5:00 pm). I've played in the 4-8 and 10-20 several times and both games are very beatable. The 4-8 game plays like a 1-2 game online, at best. If you are driving in from out of town you can call ahead 2-3 hours to get on the waiting list. The poker "room" is on the third floor towards the back. It is not really a room just a roped off area amidst several slot machines. Hope this helps.

If you are comming from southeast or southwest of shreveport, the Paragon casino in Marksville has a nice room. They are about 20 miles east of Alexandria. The spread 4-8, 10-20 and occasionally 20-40 holdem. They have a Monday night tourney that drew 70 players in August when I was down there.
